I wanted to share a bit of information about myself so that you can get to know who you will be working with. I am a qualified counsellor registered with ACA (Australian Counselling Association). My professional studies consist of Bachelors of Social Sciences, a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a Masters in Counselling Practice. In between my studies I worked as a Local Area Coordinator for Disability Service Commission and as a Field Officer in the Department of Child Protection. I also have experience working with people struggling with AOD challenges in an on-site rehabilitation program. I have worked with a range of people from many different walks of life, ranging from children to the elderly. In 2020 I began my private practice known as Revive Family Counselling and have loved every moment of it.

I am so passionate about people's mental health and do not believe we are meant to live a life stuck in trauma, or plagued by destructive thoughts and emotions. I believe we become stronger and more resilient when we deal with hard circumstances and learn to overcome those mental battles that come with it. It can be too overwhelming to do this on our own, which is why I have dedicated nearly 2 decades to helping people with these challenges. - Shiyanka
