Bio and Qualifications:
Dr Susan Miller PhD is a registered clinical and counselling psychologist and Codirector of The Melbourne Counselling & Psychology Centre in Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Masters in Counselling and a doctorate in Health Sciences. Susan has taught in Masters in Counselling programs at Universities in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. Susan has worked as a clinician, supervisor and trainer for more than twenty-five years and as State Co-ordinator of the Department of Justice, Jury Commissioners’ Debriefing program in Melbourne for more than a decade. She has worked as a consultant psychologist for the Victims Advisory Unit of the Victoria Police, as psychological trainer and consultant to the Victims Referral & Assistance Service, and as a member of the expert assessment panel within the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal in Melbourne. Susan has provided critical incident debriefing and consultation following incidents of mass violence in Australia and Indonesia. She has a clinical practice in Melbourne. Susan also consults and provides training and professional supervision to individuals, private, government and community organisations. She has presented locally and internationally. Susan has particular interest in the integration of meaning-centred therapies and positive psychology, the reconstruction of meaning and resilience following trauma and loss, and the well-being of practitioners working with survivors of trauma.
