Notice of Intention to Submit Complaint
All registered counsellors are required to abide by the ACA Code of Ethics.
The purpose of this online form is to provide notice of your intention to lodge a complaint. It is not a submission of the complaint itself, which will be done formally throughout the complaints process.
The aim of ACA’s complaints process is to afford protection to the public (consumers), counsellors (members) and the reputation of the profession of counselling.
Complaints can be made by a member of the public who has used a service provided by a member of the Association, or by a member of the Association themselves. The Association does not have jurisdiction to deal with complaints against individuals who are not members of the Association.
Via this form, you must submit the name of the counsellor, as well as your own name and contact details. No complaints marked as anonymous will be actioned as it is a requirement that we receive the name of the counsellor and the full contact details of the complainant.
Please submit your details along with a short, concise, overview of your complaint. You will then be contacted and provided opportunity to submit your formal complaint. Please ensure that you provide evidence to support your complaint as this is required to progress the matter further.
Please refer to the ACA Complaints Procedural Guidelines to understand the process we undertake in complaint matters.
