David 'Bhakti' Gotlieb
Bio and Qualifications:
David 'Bhakti' Gotlieb worked intensively with the highly dissociative clients which has been the training ground for his understanding of dissociative mechanisms. He has also specialised in Domestic Violence in his local community and doing a Mini Thesis on 'Men, Violence and Community Response' which outlined his research on various models for engaging men in a process of dealing with their violence. He ran groups for Men who use violence for nearly 10 years and did a research project for the Dept of Women in the same subject area. He is a Counsellor, Supervisor, Conference Presenter in Private Practice, Bowral and Sydney, NSW Australia. He has been counselling for more than 25 years using many modalities including Transactional Analysis, Voice Dialogue, Gestalt, Transpersonal Psychology, Process Oriented Psychology leading to the refinement of 'Healing Inner Conflict (HIC)' as the predominant model he uses due to its speed and efficacy. He attained his Graduate Diploma in Social Ecology and followed that with a Masters in Applied Science majoring in Critical Perspectives in Psychological Practice (both at UWS, Western Sydney). He has worked in NGO’s including Sydney City Mission Wilderness Program, Burnside, Wingecarribee Family Support (10years) including the Men’s Support Group for Breast Cancer Institute at Westmead Hospital (10 years). I have gradually developed my private practice in the Southern Highlands and Sydney over the past 20 years. I offer individual and group supervision, workshop facilitation and conference presentations both here and overseas. He works in a down to earth way, combining humour, precision and tangible outcomes.
