Title: Working with Trauma Online Symposium

Objective of Course / Workshop:

The Online Symposium will explore key aspects of trauma practice and research. Practitioners and researchers will present on key aspects of their work with trauma. The event will provide opportunities to engage in dialogue with trauma practitioners specialising in a variety of therapy modalities. 

Course / Workshop Outline:


Session one 3pm-4pm: Trauma-informed practice to support people with lived experience of trauma

Session two 4:15pm-5:15pm: A Gestalt therapy approach to working with trauma

Session three 5:30pm-6:30pm: A psychodynamic treatment of trauma that informs the decision to gamble: New research


Session four 11am-12pm: Working with complex developmental trauma: Insights and clinical applications from attachment

Session five 12:15pm-1:15pm: Trans adolescent trauma: Bullies, blades and barricades


Session six 2pm-3pm: Post-trauma reconstruction with refugee families - is there a role for institutions

Session seven 3:15pm-4:15pm: Climate Change Trauma: Impacts and theraputic responses
