2) Identify a minimum of three ways of dealing with clinical challenges in play therapy,
3) Create a plan for deconstructing play therapy challenges that emerge in your work and/or in that of play therapists you supervise.
|Course / Workshop Outline:||
90 min webinar by Jodi Mullen to learn basic play therapy skills to engage children (through the primary grades) in play therapy.
Includes the opportunity to participate in interactive exercises.
Webinar package also includes written materials for an opportunity for a 30 minute reflection on learning.

It is not easy to work with children therapeutically. The challenges of working with children as professional helpers are many, and some are specific to play therapy. In this webinar we will explore typical challenges in play therapy, and examine how these challenges impact the play therapist's relationship with the child. Online assessment which is required to be completed prior to the issue of a certificate.

Jodi Ann Mullen, PhD, LMHC, RPT-S, CCPT-Master, has been a Mental Health Counselor and Play Therapist for 25 years. She is a professor at SUNY Oswego in the Counseling & Psychological Services Department where she coordinates the Mental Health Counseling Program and Graduate Certificate Program in Play Therapy. She is also the Director of Integrative Counseling Services in New York State. Dr. Mullen is an international speaker and author. She has authored several manuscripts on play therapy and counselling. Dr. Mullen navigates the world of child rearing on her podcast Freakishly Well-Behaved Kids. Most importantly, she is the proud mother of Andrew and Leah.
