Title: Wheel of Supervision Part 2 - Practising the Diversity of Supervision

Objective of Course / Workshop:

Part 2 - 5 day training is designed to deepen understanding of the intent, inter-relational themes, tasks and responsibilities of the supervisory relationship. It also addresses practising the diversity of the role.

This course is now an ACA accepted course of study to qualify appropriately qualified counsellors to train as Supervisors and apply for registration with ACA for membership in the ACA College of Supervisors.

  6. Supervisor’s Responsibilities
  7. Working across Systems
  8. The passionate supervisor 

Course over 5 days - Mon 16 to Fri 20 April 2018

Total hours: 36

morning sessions from 9.30 to 12.30pm with 20 min break afternoon sessions from 1.30 pm to 4.30pm with 20 min break

Course / Workshop content:

In the second module, there is an emphasis on the role and responsibilities of the supervisor both within the interpersonal supervisory relationship and within the context of supervision practice, with educational, organisational and private settings all addressed. Specific issues such as dual roles, conflicts of interest and ethical considerations are explored as is the understanding of and working with difference

Experience:

Dr Alison Strasser is a practising psychotherapist, coach and clinical supervisor. She has been instrumental in creating the existential curriculum for a variety of counselling and psychotherapy trainings in Australia.

Adam McLean is a psychotherapist and counsellor in private practice, a clinical supervisor, educator and trainer with more than 30 years experience. He is a faculty member of the Jansen Newman Institute.
