An introduction of the essential skills and knowledge required by Christian workers to apply theological insights into pastoral counselling. Specifically, a Christian counselling approach is considered applicable to common spiritual issues of such as rejection, forgiveness, identity and self-acceptance.

A] Critique Christian counselling (30 min)

B] Apply Christian counselling approach in a counselling setting (30 min)

C] Questions and Reflection (30 min)

  1. Analyse and critique the Christian counselling approach
  2. Identify the unique benefits associated with the Christian counselling approach
  3. Clarify specific client needs and issues and agreed desired changes to be addressed
  4. Work with client to explore how redemption is central to a Christian worldview
  5. Apply Christian counselling to a range of spiritual issues
  6. Evaluate the effectiveness of Christian counselling in responding to client needs

A short assessment consisting of multiple choice questions and a personal reflection is required by participants seeking OPD points
