I am a registered Creative Art Therapist (AThR),Sandplay Therapist, professional Clinical Supervisor (M.A.C.A.) and Educator registered with VIT (Victorian Institute Teaching),who works in the field of Art Therapy and Creative Arts Counselling . Where do you go and what happens when you do not have the words for your feelings, situations or troubling issues? Through the process of art therapy, individuals can often approach these difficult issues and convey a message much clearer and safer than with words. The art serves as a record of these events which the individual can later reflect on and eventually understand with greater clarity, with the potential to break through rather than break down. My therapeutic creative Art and Sandplay therapy sessions, provide a safe space for my clients to reawaken their creativity and inner child, explore where they are at the moment and any issues they would like to work through. I work with children and adults in groups and one on one sessions using a diverse range of creative tools including: drawing, clay, sand play, painting, mandalas and collage. I encourage the journey of self-discovery and walk alongside my clients as their ("Anam Cara' -Soul companion), as they map their current story and then create a new healing story for their future lives. The process involves: relaxation, free art expression and amplification to find meaning and connection. This approach is a gentle and non-invasive way of counselling, going deep into one's inner world to find insights and hope. No experience of art is needed, you cannot make a mistake,it is about the process not the outcome. I have facilitated group art therapy programs in a variety of educational and social settings. These include: *Professional Development and Group Supervision workshops for Art Therapists, Counsellors and Health practitioners * Kreative Kids Expressive Arts After School program in Ballarat, * School based Art therapy & wellbeing programs in primary schools * Women’s groups * Seasons of the Soul *Open Studio Group Art Therapy-access for all abilities * Dream groups * Cancer support *Residential Aged care * Mandala and Mask workshops. I have worked 1-1 with individual clients from varying backgrounds including family violence, complex needs, acquired brain injury, bereavement, grief & profound loss, anxiety issues and eating disorders. As a professional Supervisor I also offer 1-1 face and phone supervision for counsellors, art therapists and case managers.
