Registered Counsellor Bethany Walker
I can assist you with a wide range of mental health concerns. I have worked with adults, couples, adolescents, families and children in both not for profit and private practice.
I have experience working with relationship difficulties, attachment injuries, childhood neglect & intergenerational trauma, family & domestic violence, familicide, abuse, sexual abuse, trauma, loss & grief, anxiety, depression, suicidality, addiction, shame and self-esteem issues as well as integration of psychedelic and transpersonal spiritual experiences.
I offer a safe, warm and confidential space where we can work together to explore any issues, anxieties or stresses in your life, desires for change and challenges in your way.
I take a holistic, person-centred approach to counselling, working with your personal beliefs, values and goals to explore your inner truth and wisdom.
My approach to therapy is highly collaborative. Once I have an understanding of your main concerns and depending on your needs we may draw on any of the following therapeutic approaches that I have experience in:
Inner child therapy, Somatic bodywork & breathwork techniques, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), Narrative therapy, SFBT (solutions focused brief therapy), EFT (emotion-focused therapy), Psychodrama, drama therapy and parts work, Meditation and mindfulness, Couples Therapy or Neurofeedback (by special request).
Prior to counselling my background was in workshop facilitation and drama teaching and I continue to use some drama therapy and psychodrama techniques in my current practice where appropriate.
