Bio and Qualifications:
Shannon lives in Canberra with his wife and 4 children. He is completing his PhD in Christian Counselling and has an active private Christian counselling and supervision practice. He is a Level 3 ACA member and a member of the College of Supervisors. For more than two years he has worked as a Counsellor for the OZ Help Foundation and for 11 years prior to that he was a counsellor with the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission. In this capacity he has conducted hundreds of hours of one-on-one counselling, scores of critical incident debriefs and responded to most of Australia’s largest natural disasters in the past decade. For the past 4 years Shannon had been the Academic Manager at the Australian Institute of Family Counselling but was released from this role in 2017 to complete his PhD. He is now a full-time faculty member of Stirling Theological College – a College of the University of Divinity and has co-developed their new Master of Counselling program.
