From CEO's Desk

June and July have been very busy months with visits to Adelaide and Sydney to run the ACA Super 2 in 1 workshop and attend the SAPCA annual conference in Adelaide. I have caught up with many members and hope to catch up with more as the year progresses.

I can now inform you that ACA has now started meeting with Private Health funds in relation to having counsellors recognised for provider numbers. This task will take several months as unfortunately we need to meet with each health fund individually. Hopefully there will be a ripple effect when we strike gold.

I have had emails sent to members about the conference in Canberra and would once like to emphasise seats are going fast and ACA is limited to only 100 seats so if you are intending to go do not leave in the pending tray as you may miss out.

I hope to catch up with you in my travels.

"How to Become a More Effective Counsellor"

An interactive and experiential presentation with Donald Marmara. There is no way to become more effective - there is YOUR WAY. Each one of us is different. Using professional skills gained over the past 30 years, Donald will help you discover what YOU can do to further develop your unique combination of strengths and talents so as to maximise your potential to help others and increase and deepen your ability to enjoy life.

As research shows that 60% to 90% of what we communicate is through body language and voice tone, these aspects will be emphasised. A whole new dimension opens up when we work on this level, and deeper issues can be discovered. Donald's passion is to encourage and support each person's uniqueness. He also loves working with children and teenagers, as well as with adults.

Donald trained with some of the leading exponents of somatic psychotherapy and developing humans potential in Europe and America, and has presented at various National and International Conferences including the Australian Counselling Association's National Conference in Melbourne and Brisbane, the International Ecopolitics Conference at Macquarie University in Sydney and The British Holistic Medical Association and the Institute for Cultural Affairs in the UK.
