The Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) |
 |
|
The Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) is the national body representing Australia's 270,000+ postgraduate students.
Founded in 1979, it is a membership based, non-profit organisation, comprised of 33 postgraduate associations from universities around Australia and the National Indigenous Postgraduate Association Aboriginal Corporation (NIPAAC).
CAPA communicates the perspectives and concerns of postgraduate students to the Federal Government, Federal Opposition, minor parties and higher education peak bodies; and produces quality research to maintain a leading role in higher education and a strong media presence as an authoritative source of information on postgraduate issues.
CAPA is governed by an Executive Committee, supported by Regional and Equity committees elected from among the membership. All of CAPA’s activities are informed by individual postgraduate students through affiliated member organisations on university campuses. If you are interested in getting involved, contact the postgraduate representative organisation on your campus.
In 2009 CAPA will celebrate 30 years as the national voice for postgraduate students.
